THEME CREDIT?

So, I just discovered the main reason why Aleeza/atmospherica deleted her blog.
Because people kept editing her themes and claiming them as their own.

SERIOUSLY, THE PEOPLE WHO STEAL, IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU A THEME MAKER IF YOU JUST ALTER SOME FONTS, POSITIONS, ANIMATIONS OR WHATEVER. IF THAT WAS SO, EVERYONE ON TUMBLR WOULD BE A FREAKING THEME MAKER. AND EVERYONE ON TUMBLR IS NOT.

LET ME ASK YOU THIS?
Would you cheat on a test in high school? University? Tafe? College? Or wherever you go for education? NO. You’d be punished. You’d probably fail. Would you plagarise your friend’s essay or assignment? NO. You’d be punished. You’d probably fail too. If you do these things, you might even get kicked out of school. Would you like a criminal record too? I DIDN’T THINK SO.

So why do it online? Are you actions justifiable just because people don’t know you in real life? Do you think you can really get away with it that easily? SERIOUSLY, WHAT IS SO HORRIBLE ABOUT HAVING A THING ON YOUR BLOG THAT CREDITS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. IT’S JUST THE WORD THEME, OR CREDIT, OR MAYBE A SYMBOL LIKE THE COPYRIGHT SIGN. IT DOESN’T TAKE UP ANY SPACE AT ALL. IT’S JUST THERE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE OWNER.

You need a bibliography for an assignment, right? Does the biblio make the assignment way uglier? NO, it doesn’t YOU JUST NEED IT. It doesn’t affect the appearance of the assignment in any way. Just like how a symbol or a simple word shouldn’t affect your theme in ANY WAY whatsoever.

IT’S NOT HARD TO PUT A WORD OR SYMBOL ON YOUR BLOG JUST TO CREDIT THE OWNER. THE OWNER OF THAT THEME PUT SO MUCH EFFORT INTO MAKING IT. THEY HAVE SPENT HOURS OF THEIR DAYS MAKING IT FOR YOU. FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. TO PLEASE YOU. THEY’RE DOING IT BECAUSE YOU MAKE THEM HAPPY.

By claiming their themes as you own, you’re just stabbing them in the back. You really are. They make themes for you and because they love to. Would you be happy if someone stole a theme YOU spent so long on making? I DIDN’T THINK SO.

So PLEASE, if you’re stealing codes and claiming them as your own, just stop. Seriously, it’s not doing you any good. it’s not doing the theme maker any good. It’s not doing ANYONE any good.

It’s just so wrong. It’s illegal. and it really pisses me off that people do it.

PLEASE, STOP. DON’T DO IT. I DON’T KNOW. JUST DON’T.
